Certifications & Your Career
Do Certifications Help Your Career?
You bet they do and as competition for top jobs heats up, an industry certification may help you to land your dream job over another competing applicant. Skill, experience, and education each play a part in what a recruiter or employer considers to determine if you are a fit for the role and the organization. Today, most mid to high-level supply chain positions are requiring industry certifications.
First, it means that you have the formal understanding of the processes and procedures driving supply chains today. Secondly, and more importantly, it also indicates that you care about and value yourself and your career since you invested extra time and money to study and pass a certification which is not required.
Employers want to see that you are invested in your advancement and that you are willing to learn and grow for yours and your employer’s mutual success.
